Home lending rules
From the ESTER e-catalog, you can order publications for on-site use or for home lending. You can add item to the waiting list when the publication has been loaned out.
In order to use the services of the Library for the Blind, a certificate of the disability, disorder or illness preventing the reading of printed text, or a copy thereof is required.
Loan rules:
- 30 days for books;
- 3 months for sheet music;
- 14 days for journals of information sciences and Austrian, German and Swiss collections;
- CDs, films and music CDs from Austrian, German and Swiss collections 14 days.
- The loan period for audio books, printed books and e-books of the Library for the Blind is 30 days. The loan period for tactile books and films with descriptive translation is 14 days, and the loan period for books in Braille is 60 days.
- A registered user of the Library for the Blind has the right to order up to 5 non-returnable audio books and up to 5 non-returnable e-books within 2 weeks.
It is important to know that:
- You can borrow up to 30 publications
- the return deadline can be extended up to 3 times.
The return deadline cannot be extended:
- magazines
- CDs and DVDs
- if the return deadline has been exceeded
- if the patron has fines
- if there is a waiting list for the publication.
